Tips Allocation
From October 2024 we will see an obligation for employers to allocate and distribute 100% of tips received into their business to staff. For more information on the new tips law and statutory Code of Practice please contact us.
Introduction of Employment Rights Bill
Following the election of Labour Government they have given firm commitments to introduce a new Employment Rights Bill to Parliament within 100 days. Their manifesto Plan to Make Work Pay contains a number of employment law pledges, it has said to include items such as unfair dismissal protections becoming a day one right, plans to give employees 'the right to switch off'. Their initial suggestion was that this would be ready in October 2024.
Modern Slavery
Eligible organisations operating a 1 April - 31 March financial year must publish their modern slavery statement soon. We can advise on what the statement must include, actions employers can take on modern slavery and whether non-eligible organisations may want to publish their own statement.
